President's Message
I joined the Association of Image Consultants International for a simple reason: I needed some form of support to get me through the challenges that I faced as an entrepreneur. Running a sole proprietorship was proving to be lonely - I didn′t have anyone around to talk to or bounce ideas off of, so when I found out about an association for image consultants, I became a member and have been enjoying the perks ever since! A couple of months into my membership I was asked to join the board of directors and accepted the position of Co-Chair Memberships, moving on to serve as VP Memberships, and now President of the chapter. Getting involved at the board level has allowed me to grow by practicing commitment, integrity, and drive. I urge any member wanting to get involved at the board level to do so – we meet roughly every six weeks to discuss how to better our Canadian chapter. AICI offers support through communication, newsletters, and monthly events where members get the chance to network, learn, and grow. These events offer the opportunity to speak with other image consultants and gain new perspectives on business and the industry. AICI also offers three certification levels for members interested in advancing their education: First Level Certification, Certified Image Professional, and Certified Image Master for image consultants who meet the criteria necessary to advance. I’m really looking forward to my next years as President so that I can offer the same support that I received to our new and existing members. Daniela Mastragostino, AICI, CIP President AICI Canada-Toronto Chapter 2006-2008		J'ai joint l'Association Internationale des Conseillers en Image (AICI) pour la raison suivante: j'avais besoin d'aide pour faire face aux défis que je rencontrais en tant qu'entrepreneur. Avoir une entreprise individuelle m'isolait du reste, je n'avais personne à qui parler de mes idées donc lorsque j'ai pris connaissance de l'association je suis devenue membre et depuis j'en suis trÈs satisfaite. Quelques mois après mon inscription, on m'a demandé de faire partie du conseil d'administration. J'ai alors accepté la position de Co-Présidente puis je suis devenue Vice-Présidente et maintenant je suis présidente au niveau régional. Etre engagée à ce niveau m'a permit de développer l'engagement, l'intégrité et le dynamisme. Je conseillerais à chaque membre intéréssé de faire partie du Conseil d'Aministration. Nous nous rencontrons à peu près toutes les six semaines afin de trouver des moyens de développer notre section canadienne. AICI apporte de l'aide au niveau communication, à travers les newsletters et grace aux évènements mensuels ou les membres on la chance d'échanger, d'apprendre et de grandir. Ces évènements donnent l'opportunité de parler à d'autres conseillers en Image et de découvrir de nouvelles perspectives au niveau business et au niveau de la proféssion en général. AICI propose trois niveaux de certification pour les membres intéréssés à poursuivre leur éducation: - Certificat de premier niveau - Certificat professionel - Certificat de maitrise pour les conseillers en Image qui ont les critères nécéssaires pour avancer. Je suis enthousiasmée a l'idée d'être Présidente pour les années a venir afin de donner aux nouveaux membres le même support que j'ai recu.
